72 Film Fest and You!

72 Film Fest and You!

Producer Note: For the third year, Mikael was back and we looked to re-introduce the audience to the Film Fest, this time in the guise of poorly edited 1940s-60s Public Service Announcements.  Due to scheduling conflicts from hell, we only had 6-8 hours total shooting time to create the bumps for both nights.  Joey McAdams came back to Maryland to shoot for a day, and scored the opening and ending videos for the fest.

After a few passes on some GTA footage, we laid that to bed, (perhaps prematurely) still fearing we never had the “hook”.  On Monday we attempted to shoot two PSA’s starring Kerline and Julie Herber.  Both played battered wives desperately trying to sell products during the 50′s despite the bruises (physical and mental) popping through.  While the actresses nailed it, we deemed it too “dark”, even for our audience.  On the Wednesday before Premiere we decided to take another stab at the PSA’s with Mikael and luckily got the gem.

Playing towards the audience’s friends and families and the effect the artists had on them – Mikael channeled a very awkward conversation that many of us have had to endure (on both sides).
