72 Film Fest
The 72 Film Fest is an annual contest in Frederick, MD that inspires and challenges filmmakers from the Mid-Atlantic region to create a short film within 72 hours. Over 200 movies have been made as part of the film fest in the first six years. It has grown to be a staple in the art and filmmaking community, screening movies from students, pros, and amateurs alike to a packed house of enthusiastic fans.
For the first six years filmmakers were each given a specific themes from broader topics like “first lines of books”, “fairy tales”, “polaroids” or “proverbs”. For 2011 teams were given two screenshots of previous 72 Film Fest entries and asked to open and close their movie on those frames.
2012 Marks the Seventh year of 72 Film Fest.
